TOTAL RECALL
Alexander Bergman

Founder

Alexander Bergman

Director and cinematographer, twenty years in. Emmy-nominated for his cinematography. He started Total Recall to make the whole film himself: the idea, the shoot, the cut, the grade and the mix.

His work spans commercials for Nike, Jordan, Chanel, Dior, Tissot, Lee, Fender and Bob's Watches, music videos for J. Cole, Swedish House Mafia and Enrique Iglesias (many as half of the directing duo BBGUN), and horror features including The Crawling and his own Method. He shoots on his own cinema camera package and operates Steadicam, and he has cut in Final Cut for twenty years and in Premiere and DaVinci Resolve for ten.

The process

  1. CallTwenty minutes. What you sell, who buys it, where the film will run, and what you want to spend.
  2. ProposalA one-page concept, the list of deliverables, the schedule and one fixed price.
  3. Pre-productionScript or outline, shot list, locations, casting help, and a plan for shooting at your business without shutting it down.
  4. ShootAlexander directs and shoots. A small crew joins when the job calls for one.
  5. PostHe edits, grades and mixes it himself, so the film keeps one point of view from set to final file. You give notes on the cut.
  6. DeliveryThe hero film plus every version you need: cutdowns, vertical, square, captions, stills.
